We have our 68th schedule tonight, and it’s the school where my son goes (and, as I will continue to lament this until the winter season of his senior year has passed, does not wrestle). Stanton is our 44th schedule on the Northeast side, just two left out there, and completes our list of 2A-District 3 teams in the fold.
The Blue Devils will open their season on Saturday with Terry Parker’s Arlington Optimist Invitational, a one-day IBT, and then will stay in the IBT format with Bishop Snyder’s Westside Kiwanis Invitational, a two-day version on December 8-9. Stanton will have its first duals of the season on December 11 at Wolfson, where Paxon will also be in attendance.
Stanton elected not to compete in 2A-District 3 duals, at least from the schedule I have, so their next competition will not be until Terry Parker’s Army Duals event on January 12-13. The Blue Devils will then compete in the Gateway Conference tournament at Sandalwood on January 19-20, with a midweek tri-meet at Robert E. Lee, along with Atlantic Coast, on January 24.
Stanton wraps up the regular season with a January 31 tri at First Coast (Atlantic Coast will also be there), then will be the Westside Duals on February 3.
That is our 68th schedule. Which one will be NEXT?? (Raines…Paxon…Mosley…North Florida Christian…Maclay…Somerset Jefferson…it will be one of you).
