3A-Region 1 Records Update: Lake Brantley

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today, we continue in 3A-District 3 with Lake Brantley. We did well with Lake Brantley’s tournaments, but we did not see a single dual — in midweek or tournament competition — result from last season.

Here’s their records update: LAKE BRANTLEY

Their records can also be found here.

The work continues.

1A-Region 2 Records Update: The First Academy

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today is our fourth installment out of 1A-District 7 with The First Academy. Most of TFA’s results were searchable, but there were a few things missing here and there, particularly in the second half of January.

Here’s their records update: FIRST ACADEMY

3A-Region 1 Records Update: Evans

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today, we continue in 3A-District 3 with Evans. As was the case with Colonial last time, we did well with Evans’ tournaments, but not nearly so well with its midweek duals, as far as results appearing on Track was concerned.

Here’s their records update: EVANS

Their records can also be found here.

The work continues.

#Schedules19-20: Wakulla Is SIXTEENTH IN

We got our sixteenth schedule this morning, from one of our 1A powerhouses.

Today’s schedule came in from Wakulla, much of which we already had in hand, but a few key dates we did not know about were listed on here.

WAKULLA LOGO

Wakulla will start with its traditional trip over to South Walton for the two-day Border Wars VII, with round-robin and IBT competitions over the two-day period on the 6th and 7th. The War Eagles will next make the short hop north to Tallahassee for Chiles’ two-day IBT, the Capital City Classic, on the 13th and 14th, and will begin their dual season by defending their Beast of the Beach title at Ft Walton Beach on the 20th and 21st, which will close out December competitions.

The War Eagles’ first new date will be on January 3-4, where Wakulla will make its longest trip of the season, heading to Bradenton for Manatee HS’ Hurricane Duals two-day tournament. 1A-District 2 dual team tournament action has not been settled at this writing, but Region 1 (on the 16th) and state (24th and 25th) are potentially in play. In between those levels of the dual team tournament series, Wakulla will compete in Wewahitchka’s two-day Gator Brawl on the 17th and 18th.

The War Eagles have staged a one-day IBT for a few seasons now; last year’s version included a mini-duals event on the Friday before. This year, Wakulla’s tournament will be a two-day IBT on January 31st and February 1st. The following weekend, the War Eagles will return to Clay for its two-day Rotary IBT. The regular season will conclude with Wakulla’s Senior Night dual at home against Lincoln on the 12th.

So. That’s 16 schedules. We could use a lot more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today is our third installment out of 1A-District 7 with Crystal River, which has run District 5 for the past couple of seasons. We had several results for the Pirates, but not many, particularly in their dual tournaments.

Here’s their records update: CRYSTAL RIVER

#Schedules19-20: Nease Is FIFTEENTH IN

We got our fifteenth schedule this morning, from one of our new teams…in 3A-District 1.

Our second schedule of the day is from Nease, under new management from Coach Lucas, who understudied for several years with Coach Dunn at Terry Parker. Due to its solid growth, Nease is in its first year as a 3A school after spending each of the first six years of the site as a 2A program.

NEASE LOGO

The St Johns Panthers will begin varsity competition with a midweek tournament, going to Orange Park for the Raiders’ 8-Way Duals on the 4th. They’ll engage in another duals tournament, this one on a Friday night, when they compete at new district rival Oakleaf’s Friday Knight Lights duals event on the 13th. A midweek away dual against Creekside — which also jumped up to 3A-1 as did the Panthers — on the 18th will wrap up December.

January will see the Panthers going back to Creekside on the 4th, this time for the St Johns County Roundrobin tournament. Nease will then go back to Oakleaf on the 8th, this time for the 3A-District 1 dual team tournament, with the possibility of Region 1 duals on the 16th and state duals on the 24th and 25th. Nease’s next regular-season competition will be staged in St Cloud on the 17th and 18th, as the Panthers will compete in the Milton-Winter Invitational, which appears to be IBT in format as it was a year ago. Nease will then compete in Orange Park’s midweek duals tournament on the 22nd and, should they not advance far enough to get to states, will be competing in the Parker Duals, hosted by Terry Parker, on the 24th and 25th.

Nease will be in duals mode in February, at least until the post-season traditional tournament series. The Panthers will travel to Fletcher for a midweek dual on the 5th and then will go to Englewood for its six-way duals tournament on the 7th, another Friday night tournament. Nease will wrap up the regular season with its Senior Night home dual against Ponte Vedra, on the 12th.

So. That’s 15 schedules. We could use a lot more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???

#Schedules19-20: Mainland Is FOURTEENTH IN

We got our fourteenth schedule this morning, and it’s our third schedule coming from one of our new teams for 2019-20.

In our first of two schedules received today, we got Mainland’s schedule and some very kind words from Coach Lawrence as well.

mainland

Mainland will start its boys varsity schedule with a trip over to Orange City for the Titan Clash, a one-day IBT, on December 7. The Buccaneers will dual Deltona in a midweek dual on the 11th and will complete the month with a visit to Longwood for Lyman’s two-day IBT, the Bill Scott Memorial, on the 20th and 21st.

In January, the Buccaneers will take their longest trip of the season, going to Fleming Island for the Keystone Invitational (duals on the first day, IBT on the second) on the 3rd and 4th. Mainland will engage in 2A-District 4 dual team competition on the 11th, with Matanzas hosting, with the possibility of region duals on the 16th and state duals on the 24th and 25th. The Bucs’ next regular-season varsity competition will be a home dual with Pine Ridge on the 22nd.

February competition sees Mainland with two events so far, going up 95 a short bit to Flagler Palm Coast for the Bulldogs’ two-day IBT, the Flagler Rotary, on January 31st and February 1st. The Bucs will also take part in 5 Star Conference tournament action at New Smyrna Beach on the 8th.

Mainland has a substantial girls’ schedule on its docket as well. The Bucs will start with Clash of the Titans on December 6 and will be at Matanzas’ Lady Pirate event on the 14th. Mainland wrestlers will have two events in January that are already on the calendar, with Cypress Creek’s Lady Bear Invitational on the 18th and Lyman’s Grayhound Invitational on the 25th.

So. That’s 14 schedules. We could use a lot more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???

3A-Region 1 Records Update: Colonial

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today, we continue in 3A-District 3 with Colonial. We did well with Colonial’s tournaments, but not nearly so well with its midweek duals, as far as results appearing on Track was concerned.

Here’s their records update: COLONIAL

Their records can also be found here.

#Schedules19-20: Englewood Is THIRTEENTH IN

We got our thirteenth schedule this morning, and it’s our second schedule of the day today.

Coming in this afternoon is Englewood, which is looking at a very different district makeup from what the Rams faced a year ago.

ENGLEWOOD LOGO

The Rams will kickoff the varsity competitive season with an appearance at region rival (no longer district rival) Orange Park’s Raider 8-Way midweek dual tournament on December 4. That weekend, on the 6th-7th, Englewood will go to (still) district and Gateway rival Terry Parker for the Braves’ two-day IBT, the Arlington Optimist Invitational. The Rams will compete in their third tournament on Friday the 13th out at Oakleaf for the Knights’ Friday Knight Lights, which will be contested on the OHS football field. From the schedule, it appears that 2A-District 3 dual team tournament competition will be staged over two days, with December 18 the first of those dates. The month will close with Englewood competing at Yulee’s two-day duals tournament on the 20th and 21st.

In January, Englewood will start with the second round of 2A-District 3 dual team tournament action on the 8th, then will go back to Terry Parker for the Braves’ USMC Duals tournament on the 10th and 11th. With the possibility of Region 1 duals on the 16th and state duals on the 24th and 25th, the next regular-season date is set for the 17th-18th, where Englewood will take part in Westside’s two-day roundrobin (we’ve also seen this as a one-day tournament as well). Competitive dates within the month conclude with Englewood going back to Parker for the two-day Parker Duals on the 24th and 25th.

There are two regular-season tournaments on Englewood’s calendar for February. The first of those, Gateway, will actually begin on January 31st and conclude on the 1st, hosted by Fletcher. Englewood will then host a six-way duals tournament, the Rams Classic, on the 7th, another Friday-night dual tournament. It will close down the regular season with a Senior Night home dual, right now scheduled for February 12, opponent to be determined.

So. That’s 13 schedules. We could use a lot more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???

#Schedules19-20: DeLand Is TWELFTH IN

We got our twelfth schedule this morning, and it’s our second schedule among our new teams that we’re covering in 2019-20.

Coming in this morning is DeLand, which will be part of our expanded coverage into Volusia County and 3A-District 2.

220px-Deland_logo

DeLand will begin varsity competition with a trip over to Oviedo for an appearance at the two-day Battle of the Blacktop, hosted by Master’s Academy, on December 6-7. Next up will be the Bulldogs’ traditional appearance at geographic and conference rival Deltona for that school’s Deltona Duals, a one-day event on the 14th. DeLand will wrap up the month with an appearance at Villages’ St John Memorial, which was a one-day IBT event last year, on the 21st.

In January, the Bulldogs will begin with a trip to Lake Mary for that school’s two-day IBT on the 3rd and 4th, the Tournament of Champions. Next up will be 3A-District 2 dual team tournament action, with University-Orange City hosting, on the 11th, with the possibility of Region 1 duals on the 16th and state duals on the 24th and 25th. As for regular-season competition, Deland will travel back to University-Orange City for an in-school dual on the 15th. The Bulldogs then will go over to Inverness for Citrus’ one-day IBT, the Ed Kilpatrick IBT, on the 18th. They’ll stay on the road for a midweek dual at Timber Creek on the 22nd, but then will return home to host a one-day tournament, the Bulldog IBT, on the 25th, and that will complete January varsity action.

February competition sees the Bulldogs going back to Timber Creek, this time for the one-day Wolfpack IBT, on the 1st. They’ll have a midweek dual on the road at Atlantic on the 5th, then will engage in 5 Star Conference tournament action at New Smyrna Beach on the 8th. DeLand will complete the regular season with a home dual for Senior Night on the 12th, hosting Lake Brantley.

So. That’s 12 schedules. We could use a lot more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???
