#Schedules19-20: Pedro Menendez is 33RD IN

We are up to our 33rd schedule thus far.

It arrived around a half-hour ago, and because I hadn’t started anything else site-related, it got accelerated to the top of the pile. That schedule came from Pedro Menendez, one of our teams that moved over from 1A-District 4 to 1A-District 5 this year.

MENENDEZ LOGO

The Falcons will spend December in duals mode, with three dual tournaments on the docket. First of those will be Orange Park’s midweek duals event, its 8-Way, on what is right now functioning as Opening Night, December 4. The Falcons will then head back to Clay County on the 13th, competing in Oakleaf’s Friday Knight Lights, a Friday-night dual tournament. The third dual tournament will be a hop down to Matanzas for the St Johns River Conference dual tournament, which this year will be a midweek event on the 18th. After that, the Falcons will break for the holidays.

Pedro Menendez will stay in St Johns County for the first event in January, literally, with a visit over to Creekside for the St Johns Championships, a one-day roundrobin on January 4 and its first non-duals event. Next up for the Falcons will be a visit to Terry Parker for the USMC Duals on the 10th and 11th, although FHSAA team duals are still TBA until the District 5 meeting. Region 2 duals could be a possibility on the 16th, with the District 5 champ hosting, and state duals are set on the 24th and 25th. Should the Falcons not get to that level, they’ve got a home dual set against in-town rival FSDB on the 16th. Menendez will compete in another midweek dual tournament at Orange Park, the Orange Park Duals, on the 22nd, and will host new district rival Palatka for Senior Night on the 23rd.

February competition will begin on the 31st of January and the first day of competition at the Flagler Rotary, a two-day IBT tournament that will end on February 1. The Falcons will close out the regular season at Clay’s two-day Rotary IBT, on the 7th and 8th.

So. That’s 33 schedules. We need more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???

#Schedules19-20: Wolfson Is 31ST IN

We are up to our 32nd schedule thus far, but our 31st schedule came in yesterday. We got our question answered regarding that schedule and we’re ready to post the precap now.

Our 31st schedule is from Wolfson, in 1A-District 4; I think it’s the first one that noted when the district traditional tournament would be held.

WOLFSON LOGO

The Wolfpack will begin the season with what has become their annual trip to Matanzas for the one-day Matanzas Duals dual tournament on December 7, their one regular-season trip outside of the greater Jacksonville area. While we were advised there could be additional events added, what’s on there for December after the Matanzas Duals are a pair of midweek duals, both against Gateway Conference rivals. Wolfson will be away at Stanton on the 11th and will host Atlantic Coast on the 18th; as of now, the Wolfpack will break for the holidays after that dual.

Wolfson will return to action on January 10-11, with their traditional twice-monthly appearance at Gateway rival Terry Parker for the USMC Duals. As of now, the schedule does not show them competing at the 1A-District 4 dual team tournament. The Wolfpack will travel to Mandarin on the 15th and to Oakleaf on the 22nd for midweek duals, then will go back to Parker for the Parker Duals on the 24th and 25th. Wolfson will host Baldwin and Terry Parker for a tri-meet on the 28th.

February competition will begin on the 31st of January with the first day of Gateway Conference IBT competition, the Wolfpack’s first IBT of the season; that event will wrap up on February 1. Wolfson will dual Englewood away on the 5th and for now that is the Wolfpack’s last regular-season date.

So. That’s our 31st schedule. We need more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???

#Schedules19-20: Florida High Is 32ND IN

We are up to our 32nd schedule thus far.

32? Don’t they teach counting in Iowa? What happened to 31?

We have a line out to our 31st coach with a question about districts and the date he listed. So we’re holding off on that precap and moving forward to the next one, since we got our third schedule of the day a little over an hour ago. That schedule came from Florida High, in 1A-District 2. That district just has two schedules outstanding (assuming that Maclay and Rickards will not field varsity programs in 2019-20).

FLORIDA HIGH LOGO

The Seminoles will spend the first two weeks of the season in town. First up on the docket will be hosting duties for the 9th annual Cam Brown Seminole Classic, a two-day roundrobin event that will be staged on December 6th and 7th. From there, Florida High will travel to intracity rival Chiles for its (along with Lincoln’s) two-day IBT, the Capital City Classic, on the 13th and 14th. The Seminoles will stay in IBT mode for their next two December events. First of those will be the Allstate Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Valdosta (GA) on the 20th and 21st. Florida High will wrap up the month with what is now becoming its traditional trip down to Kissimmee for Osceola’s Knockout Christmas Classic, the toughest regular-season tournament in the state, on the 27th and 28th. After Knockout, they’ll break for the new year holidays.

January will begin as December did, with hosting duties. The Seminoles will host the 1A-District 2 dual team tournament on the 9th, with the possibility of region duals on the 16th and state duals on the 24th and 25th. But they’ll swing back into the regular season almost immediately, as they’ll hit the road for Nassau County and Yulee’s two-day IBT, the Joe Bees Memorial, on the 10th and 11th. Florida High will then host Chiles in an in-school dual on the 29th.

February competition begins on January 31 for the Seminoles, as they’ll take a short trip over to Crawfordville for Wakulla’s two-day IBT, which ends on the 1st. Florida High closes out the regular season with its traditional visit to Clay’s two-day Rotary IBT on the 7th and 8th.

So. That’s 32 schedules. We need more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???

#Schedules19-20: Bartram Trail Is 30TH IN

We are up to our 30th schedule thus far. (We actually have 31 in hand).

Within a 15-minute span a little over an hour ago, we got two schedules that we’ve been waiting for. The first of those is another one out of 3A-District 1, with Bartram Trail (we are down to just two teams left to submit schedules in that district, and one of the two coaches remaining doesn’t know who we are yet).

BARTRAM TRAIL LOGO

A busy December will see the Bears finish with 25+ duals within the calendar month. Bartram will open the season with a trip over to Orange Park for the Raiders’ midweek 8-Way Duals event on the season-opening date to date, December 4. That Saturday, the 7th, the Bears will make their traditional visit to former district rival Matanzas for the Matanzas Duals one-day tournament. Next up will be a Friday duals tournament — the Bears have opted for these in the past — by heading out to Oakleaf for the inaugural Friday Knight Lights one-day event on the 13th at the Knights’ football field. Bartram will then contend in the St Johns River Conference tournament, again at Matanzas, in a rare midweek date (for that event) on the 18th. The Bears will close out the month with an appearance at new region rival Hagerty’s Johnny Rouse Invitational, which this year will be a two-day, 32-team tournament on the 20th and 21st. After that, Bartram will break for the holidays.

January will kick off with a short hop over to Creekside for the St Johns County Championships, which will be a one-day roundrobin, on the 4th. The Bears will then contest in the 3A-District 1 dual team tournament, back at Oakleaf, on the 8th, with the potential of region duals on the 16th and state duals on the 24th and 25th. Their regular season action will resume on the 15th, with a midweek home dual against new district rival Atlantic Coast. Should Bartram not get to state duals for the 24th and 25th, they’ll return to Terry Parker to defend their Parker Duals title. The Bears will have an away midweek dual at Robert E. Lee on the 29th.

February competition for the Bears will begin on January 31st and a trip to Palm Coast for the Flagler Rotary, a two-day IBT that will end on the 1st. Bartram will close out the regular season with a trip to Clay for its two-day Rotary IBT on the 7th and 8th.

So. That’s 30 schedules. We need more. We know who’s next. But we still could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE.

1A-Region 2 Records Update COMPLETE: Titusville

Not long after states ended, we started the process of records updates, first with our #TheSeason projects for our local teams in Florida and Georgia. We then did records updates for the rest of 3A-Region 1 and 1A-Region 2.

A project that started in late-ish March is now complete. Over both sites, we have 183 sets of records posted (128 in Florida, 55 for Georgia). They are in varying degrees of completeness based upon what could be found on our sites, what is on Track and what is on Brant’s Sentinel pages. All three combined to make one archive that will be visible for the lifetime of this site. Thousands of kids, with as many matches as we could find.

The last of these was our last installment from 1A-District 8 with Titusville. We found most things, but not everything. Here’s their records update: TITUSVILLE

Their records can also be found here.

The work continues. But the 2018-19 year is, at long last, put to bed.

3A-Region 1 Records Update COMPLETE: Winter Park

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today, we have our final team in 3A-District 4, Winter Park. This wraps up 3A work on this project and we’ll have just one more in 1A-Region 2 before we move on to the next projects. Winter Park did not wrestle a very extensive schedule; we had their tournaments but not their duals.

Here’s their records update: WINTER PARK

The work continues.

1A-Region 2 Records Update: Space Coast

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today we have our eighth installment of 1A-District 8 with Space Coast. We have one more left to do in the region (Titusville), and two total. While Space Coast reports everything to Track, I did have some discrepancies on records as they were reported. In that instance, I stick with what I can show on my PDF.

We’re getting close to the end of the year, in case you didn’t know.

Here’s their records update: SPACE COAST

Their records can also be found here.

3A-Region 1 Records Update: University (Orlando)

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today, we continue our work in 3A-District 4 with the seventh team from that district, University (Orlando). Just THREE more to go, I think, overall, and one more in 3A-Region 1. University is a team where its girls team is probably more active, and certainly more decorated, than its boys team. They could put girls into their boys lineup in a few places.

We really do have light at the end of the tunnel on this project. We should certainly complete the records updates this week.

Here’s their records update: UNIVERSITY-ORLANDO

1A-Region 2 Records Update: Satellite

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today we have our seventh installment of 1A-District 8 with Satellite. We have two more left to do in the region, and four total. Satellite reported nearly everything to Track (and you should, too, if you don’t already; it’s our standard conversation) with the exception of a mid-January dual and a duals tournament the final weekend of the season that is more about getting kids matches prior to the post-season than it is about maintaining team roster integrity (there are combinations of teams that compete as a group, which Track is fussy about).

Here’s their records update: SATELLITE

Their records can also be found here.

3A-Region 1 Records Update: Oviedo

We start our third of four (or is it really five?) offseason projects with records updates for teams that were in 1A-Region 2 and 3A-Region 1 last year and also this coming season. Today, we continue our work in 3A-District 4 with the sixth team from that district, Oviedo. Just five more to go, I think, overall, and two in 3A-Region 1. Had most Oviedo results — we seem to be doing better than we were just a couple of years ago, which is why these take so much longer to do — but we were missing a couple of their dual tournaments..

Here’s their records update: OVIEDO

Their records can also be found here.

The work continues.
