We are up to our 72nd schedule thus far.
We picked up our fifth schedule out of 2A-District 1 — we are above the 50% mark for the Panhandle, but we still need a few more — with Ft Walton Beach’s submission late this morning. Need three more from this district.
The Vikings are beginning the season at a new event in Matmen’s experience for them, going to Florida High for the Cam Brown Seminole Classic, a two-day roundrobin, at Florida High on December 6-7. Next up will be another round-robin event, this one in Auburn ALA, for the Swede Umbach Invitational on the 13th-14th. Beast on the Beach, which Ft Walton has hosted for several years, is remaining in its traditional spot on the calendar, but moving a day to include a Saturday. It will be staged on the 20th and 21st; after that, the Vikings will break for the holidays.
January kicks off with 2A-District 1’s team dual tournament, which Pace will be hosting on the 7th, with the possibility of Region 1 duals at the District 1 champ on the 16th and state duals at Osceola on the 24th and 25th. The next regular-season event for Ft Walton Beach will be at Thompson, ALA, for its annual Southeastern Pools two-day roundrobin event on the 10th and 11th. Next up will be another trip to Alabama, this time for Ft Walton Beach’s annual trek to the Smiths Station Invitational.
February wrestling will start on January 31st for the Vikings, with the first of two days at the Wakulla IBT. Ft Walton Beach will close out the regular season with a trip to Lakeland for Lake Gibson’s two-day IBT, the Braves Invitational, on the 7th and 8th.
So. That’s 72 schedules. We are actually closing in on 90% complete, but we need more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???
