EAST BREWTON, ALA — The north Florida high school wrestling season kicked off just 10 miles north of the state line Tuesday night.
And Milton opened the season with a pair of dual losses to two Alabama teams that started their season three-plus weeks ago, falling to Baldwin County, 39-30, and host W.S. Neal, 54-23.
The Panthers did have three wrestlers pick up a pair of victories. Daniel McDonal (170) had a pair of first-period pins, while Brandon Nicholson (138) had an 11-5 win over Baldwin County and first-period pin over Neal. At 132, Micah Kendrick won by a 20-5 tech fall against Neal, with a 9-5 win over Baldwin County.
The Panthers added two forfeit victories in the loss to Baldwin County, while Joslyn Anderson (152) added a first-period pin in the loss to Neal.

Milton (0-2) will go back on the mats Thursday night, this time in-state with an away tri-meet at district rival Tate. A second district rival, Choctaw, will also be there.
