CANTONMENT — Tate kicked off the 2019-20 season with a pair of home wins over fellow 2A-District 1 opponents on Thursday night.

The Aggies defeated Choctaw, 46-30, and Milton, 54-12, to start the season off at 2-0. In the third dual of the night, Choctaw (1-1) defeated Milton, 57-12.


Double winners for the Aggies were Daniel McGaha (120, major over Choctaw), Brandon Biello (132, 2 pins), Jacob Hutto (138, pin over Choctaw), Logan Drummond (145, pin over Choctaw), Chad Luckey (160, pin over Choctaw), Ashtyn Allen (195) and Gabriel McKinley (220, pin over Choctaw).


For the Indians, David Tambula (113), Sherman Fuller (152, pin over Milton, injury-default over Tate), Samuel Santos (182, pin over Tate) and David Pettway (285, 2 pins) each won twice.


Daniel McDonal (170, pin over Choctaw) was Milton’s lone double-winner.

Based on this week’s schedule, Milton is first up on the mats, hosting Alabama’s T.R. Miller tonight. Choctaw, which competed in Border Wars VII over the weekend, is scheduled for an away dual at Crestview on Tuesday night, while Tate and Satsuma AL are at an away tri-meet at WS Neal AL on Thursday night.
