North Florida Matmen staff report

Just a couple of notes from area college alumni prior to Christmas:

Kaleb Warner

Desert Duals: At Las Vegas on December 22, UNC-Pembroke was 2-2, with wins over Minot State (26-12) and Vanguard (32-9), falling to Northern State (22-18) and Upper Iowa (26-12). Kaleb Warner (Columbia ’15) was 2-2 for the Braves at 165, with wins over Minot State’s Nathan Baca (4:26) and Vanguard’s Luke Lussier (17-4), falling to Northern State’s Billy Holtan (5-1) and Upper Iowa’s Brock Benitz (6-4).

Gator Boots Duals: At Nashville TN on December 21, Simpson was 1-3 in duals, with a 25-15 win over University of the Ozarks and losses to Delaware Valley (27-25), Manchester (32-12) and Millikin (34-12). Josh Bower (Matanzas ’19) got two starts at 133, with an 11-0 major over Univ. of the Ozarks’ Stephen Fox and 9-3 loss to Millikin’s Ren Dazey.

Huntingdon was 0-3 at the same event, with losses to Millikin (37-7), Pennsylvania Tech (24-16) and Luther IA (45-5). Joseph Pearson (Ft Walton Beach ’17) started at 285 in all three duals, with a 3-1 win over Penn Tech’s Brendan McGinley and losses to Millikin’s Frank Tomaskovic (1:56) and Luther’s Keenan Feldpausch (4-2).

Upcoming: We’ll have a #NextLevel post after the Midlands and Citrus Invitational, both of which conclude on Monday, and potentially a second one after Southern Scuffle, depending on representation.
