ST AUGUSTINE — In a rematch of the battle for 1A-District 5 runnerup status Thursday, this time it was Palatka that held the upper hand over Pedro Menendez.


The Panthers turned back the Falcons, 42-36 (Pedro Menendez had beaten Palatka at Palatka during district duals competition), in a Thursday night dual at Menendez.

Ontarriyus Reid (120), Drevon Wallace (126), Brandon Lewis (132), Adaris Medina (145) and Jack Tilton (195) all won by pin for the Panthers.


For the Falcons, Nathan Luckadoo (152), Jose Ruiz (160) and Dane Litzinger each won by fall.

Palatka will be at Seabreeze’s Ray Hollingsworth Duals on Saturday, while Pedro Menendez is off until next week’s Flagler Rotary at Flagler Palm Coast on the 31st and 1st.

University-Orange City 42, Atlantic 35: In an in-school dual at Atlantic, the visiting Titans won four weights in a row between 170 and 220 to pull away from the Sharks.


Chase McDonough (145), Kellan Flanary (170), Aaron Liberti (182) and Jonathan Justice (126) each had pins from University-Orange City, which took advantage of three forfeits as well.


Atlantic got pins from Jeremiah Epps (138), Avante Chamble (152), David Arcieri (160), Jared Jackson (285) and Bernaldo Alvarez (113), plus a 19-2 tech from Jamey Bruner at 120.

The Sharks will be at DeLand for the one-day Bulldogs IBT on Saturday, while UOC is off until the Flagler Rotary next weekend.
