The work continues. We are bringing back, for its sixth year, #TheSeason. We didn’t do these first year, but have ever since. It’s something nobody else does. We compile all season records and write a wrapup for each team.
We are into our sixth round of random selections from the 11 districts. Our third team up this round and the sixth from 1A-District 5, the 60th team overall, is Interlachen.
You can see everything I have on the Rams in 2019-20 here –> INTERLACHEN
Win/loss record: 0-10 in dual meets reported to Matmen. All individual records are as compiled by Matmen.
Season in a nutshell: Interlachen has been competing short-handed for several seasons now, but particularly so over the last two to three years. The Rams had four wrestlers for each of those three events, which began with a midweek quad at Yulee on December 11. That weekend, Interlachen competed in Buchholz’s Bobcat Holiday Invitational, a one-day dual tournament, on the 14th, finishing 0-5 in duals. After the holidays, the Rams had just one event in January, hosting a midweek tri-meet on the 22nd. Unfortunately, after we’ve covered them for the past six years, Interlachen did not send representation to the 1A-District 5 traditional tournament, and, from our vantage point, we don’t know if the Rams will field a team in 2020-21. All four wrestlers that started in the Interlachen lineup were in the final event, and we can only be hopeful that the Rams will return with a team in 2020-21.
Because Interlachen did not compete in the post-season, we are not naming individual awards. No individual Ram wrestler had more than 10 matches this past season.
