1A-R2 Records Update: Central (Brooksville)

Hey guys!

The work continues. Because of course it does.

If you’ve been around a while, you’ve seen us do some things to talk about more of Florida wrestling besides the coverage area. We are therefore happy to start up — because we were worried we wouldn’t have time — our Records Updates for the remainder of 3A-Region 1 and 1A-Region 2.

We will alternate between 3A and 1A teams until we are done with 3A (which should be done first), then it will be just 1A going forward. With any luck, we’re done with these by October 1. Our first 1A team is out of District 6, with Central (Brooksville).

CENTRAL (BROOKSVILLE)

You can see everything I have on the Bears in 2019-20 here –>  CENTRAL BROOKSVILLE

Win/loss record: 3-8 in dual meets searchable by Matmen. Please review the attached document for a summary of the Bears’ performance in IBT events. All individual records are as searchable online. For post-season starters, adjustments were made to match records reported to the District 6 host.

Tournament results (where results are complete and reported): 30th at Hernando Kiwanis. 2-5 at Gulf Holiday Duals. Did not advance to 1A-Region 2 dual team tournament. 16th at Ed Kilpatrick IBT. 8th at Gulf Coast 8 Conference. 7th at 1A-District 6 traditional tournament. T-23rd at 1A-Region 2 regional tournament.

Projected key returners (15+ matches this past season) for 2020-21 (with year in school as they’ll be next year): Colson Mackay-Johnson (sophomore, 26-19 at 106, district runnerup, 0-2 at regions); Reece McCue (sophomore, 16-13 at 113, 1 match from regions); Gabriel Daniels (junior, 15-14 at 132, district 4th, 2-2 at regions); Peyton Chancey (junior, 24-20 at 145, district 4th, 1-2 at regions); Samuel Daniels (sophomore, 10-11 at 152, 1 match from regions); Dylan Wood (sophomore, 20-23 at 160, 1 match from regions); Jesse Harmon (sophomore, 28-21 at 220, 1 match from regions).

Graduation losses (15+ matches this past season or post-season experience) from this year’s team: Caleb Wood (29-12 at 138, district runnerup, 2-2 at regions); Zach Carmack (22-8 at 285, 1 match from regions).
