1A-R2 Records Update: Villages

Hey guys!

The work continues. Because of course it does.

If you’ve been around a while, you’ve seen us do some things to talk about more of Florida wrestling besides the coverage area. We are therefore happy to start up — because we were worried we wouldn’t have time — our Records Updates for the remainder of 3A-Region 1 and 1A-Region 2.

With 3A complete, we will alternate between Districts 6-8 until complete. With any luck, we’re done with these by October 1. Our final team (that we’re updating; one team has left the FHSAA for the foreseeable future) out of District 7 is Villages.

VILLAGES

You can see everything I have on the Buffaloes in 2019-20 here –>  VILLAGES

Win/loss record: 5-1 in dual meets searchable by Matmen. Please review the attached document for a summary of the Buffaloes’ performance in IBT events. All individual records noted below are as searchable online. For post-season starters, adjustments were made to win/loss records based upon results reported to the District 7 traditional tournament host. For those that had 15+ searchable matches but were not post-season starters, asterisks were added to reflect record’s incomplete nature.

Tournament results (where results are complete): 8th at Border Wars VII. 10th at Kiwanis Invitational. 7th at Amanda St John Memorial. 10th at Somerset Scuffle. 2nd at Garden 16 Invitational. 4th at Ed Kilpatrick IBT. 3rd at 1A-District 7 traditional tournament. T-10th at 1A-Region 2 traditional tournament. 39th at 1A state traditional tournament.

Projected key returners (15+ searchable matches this past season) for 2020-21 (with year in school as they’ll be next year): Joseph Mineo (sophomore, 7-11 at 106, district 4th, 0-2 at regions); Blaise Nelson (sophomore, 28-17 at 113, district 3rd, 1-2 at regions); Brett Wilke (sophomore, 35-28 at 126, district 4th, 1-2 at regions); Konnor Rutz (junior, 11-18* at 126/132, did not compete in post-season traditionals); Shawn Carr (sophomore, 8-11 at 138, 1 match from regions); Cameron Rima (senior, 41-16 at 145, district 4th, 1-2 at regions); Kevin Coon (sophomore, 45-17 at 152, district 3rd, 1 match from states); Brandon Terry (senior, 8-13* at 160, did not compete in post-season traditionals); Jaden Markus (junior, 30-11 at 182, 1 match from regions); William Burrell (junior, 8-14* at 182, did not compete in post-season traditionals); Izaiah Jauma (junior, 10-8* at 182/195, did not compete in post-season traditionals); Nicholas Heise (senior, 30-17 at 220, district 3rd, 1-2 at regions); Mark Ward (senior, 15-14 at 285, district 3rd, 0-2 at regions).
