12/1 Duals: Mainland 60, FBCA 6

DAYTONA BEACH — Tuesday night, it was the Atlantic-side portion of the coverage area to kick off the 2020-21 wrestling season at Mainland.

And the Buccaneers delivered with five pins in six contested matches, taking a 60-6 victory over First Baptist Christian Academy in the season-opener for both teams.

Mainland picked up falls from Abby Couillard (106), Devin Dorton (160), Kaleb Alexander (170), Nico Rivera (195) and Tyler Eddy (285). The Buccaneers won an additional five matches by forfeit.

First Baptist Christian gained its lone points via contested victory, as Joel Douglass (182) took a pin for the Crusaders.

Mainland swings back into action this weekend at conference rival University (Orange City), with girls competing in the Friday Lady Clash of Titans IBT and the varsity boys engaging in the Clash of Titans one-day IBT on Saturday. At press time, we do not have a schedule yet from First Baptist Christian.
