SEBASTIAN — In a tournament with a lot of history for its coaches, Flagler Palm Coast wrote the first paragraphs of its season history on Saturday.
And those paragraphs read much as the previous chapter ended last year, as the Bulldogs took first place in the 10-team Kenny Pfeiffer Invitational, hosted by Sebastian River.
FPC held off Merritt Island, 303.5-226.5, for the team title, sending 15 wrestlers to competition.
Of those 15, 12 wrestlers earned top-five finishes, with four weight classes won and three additional finals appearances made, and that without the Bulldogs’ top competitor in junior Blane DeFord.
Results from the day can be found HERE.
Flagler Palm Coast will kick off FHSAA team dual competition for the north on Tuesday, hosting preliminary duals. At this writing, DeLand will be joining them.
Team scores: 1. Flagler Palm Coast 303.5. 2. Merritt Island 226.5. 3. Rockledge 204. 4. Okeechobee 157.5. 5. Sebastian River 123. 6. Sebring 111. 7. Centennial 97. 8. South Fork 96. 9. Vero Beach 48. 10. Lake Placid 42.
