LAKELAND — Southeastern romped to victory on Saturday in the Florida Duals, taking wins over Keiser (47-4) and St Thomas (51-0).

In the victory over St Thomas, Fire wrestlers bagged bonus points in each of the first seven matches wrestled. The last of those seven was Jaquan English (Raines ’18; ranked 18th by Intermat among NAIA 141s), who falled St Thomas’ Osniel Carnesolta in 49 seconds in the 141-pound match.
As far as we were able to tell, the Southeastern-Keiser dual marked the first intercollegiate appearance for Keiser’s Carlos Bogan (Ft Walton Beach ’19; no photo available on team website).
Bogan started for the Seahawks in their dual against the Fire, taking a loss by fall to former Jensen Beach wrestler and starter at 157 in both duals Saturday, Kyle Kirkham (#11 in NAIA), in 3:58.
Maia starts at 149: At Columbia, KY, on Friday night, Kaz Maia (Flagler Palm Coast ’16) started twice for Cumberland-TN on Friday night, with a decision win and decision loss against a pair of top-10 NAIA-ranked teams.

Ranked 6th in NAIA at 149, Maia fell to third-ranked Trent Johnson of Lindsey Wilson, 5-3, in a 27-19 dual loss. Maia then defeated Marian’s Seth Johnson, 10-4, as Cumberland took a 24-13 dual win.
