SANTA ROSA BEACH — The 1A-Region 1 dual team tournament field is set, as two District 1 teams in new roles qualified out Friday night at South Walton.

South Walton’s made it to the Region 1 round before, but never as a champion. The Seahawks were 3-0 at home Friday night, with wins over Wewahitchka (60-15), Rutherford (54-21) and Rocky Bayou Christian (60-21), with an average margin of victory of 39 points.
For the first time, Rocky Bayou Christian will compete at Region 1, going 2-1 with wins over Arnold (45-35) and Bay (45-36).

The Knights will face Wakulla in the Region 1 quarterfinals, while South Walton will take on Suwannee, on January 14.
Arnold was also 2-1 on the night, with wins over Rutherford (42-18) and Bay (42-36). Bay (51-15 over Wewahitchka) and Rutherford (54-18 over Wewahitchka) were both 1-2, while the Gators were 0-3.
South Walton hosted the Scott Simpson Invitational on Saturday, with all of the 1A-District 1 duals teams in attendance there as well. We’ll have a separate story on that IBT later.
RESULTS from the nine district duals can be found HERE.
