#Storm: Bulldogs 3-2 On Day

CELEBRATION — The combination of a short-handed lineup and powerful south Florida competition made for tough sledding for both Flagler Palm Coast and Seminole on Saturday at the Storm 6-Way Duals.
The Bulldogs, with four weights forfeited to its opponents, were 3-2 on the day in the event, alternating between wins (58-12 over Gateway in round 1, 54-21 over the Noles in round 3 and 44-18 over the hosts in round 5) and losses to Southwest Miami (52-18) in round 2 and Riverdale (50-16) in round 4.
Seminole, competing in its first event of 2020-21, struggled a bit more against the level of competition, dropping duals in each of its first four rounds before taking down Gateway, 54-18, in the final round. The Noles fell to Riverdale (57-9), Celebration (45-24), Flagler, and Southwest Miami (78-0) prior to that.
Southwest Miami won the day with a 5-0 record, taking down Riverdale (4-1), 46-18, in round 5. Host Celebration was fourth at 2-3.
A complete set of the day’s box scores for all teams can be found HERE.
Flagler Palm Coast is now off until December 28, when the Bulldogs will take part in the Knockout Christmas Classic at Osceola. We haven’t received a schedule for Seminole this year; thus we’re not sure of the Noles’ next event, which could be 3A-District 2 duals competition that had been postponed 10 days ago.
ACES OF THE DAY
Flagler Palm Coast: Sophomore Kole Hannant (113/120) was one of just two unbeaten wrestlers for the Bulldogs on Saturday, and the only one to bonus-point through the day, with pins over Southwest Miami (over a state qualifier) in round 2, over Seminole in round 3 and over Celebration in round 5, plus an injury-default win over Riverdale in round 4 and an 8-0 major over Gateway in round 1.
Celebration: Sophomore Michael Frederick (220) was the Noles’ only wrestler to win four matches on Saturday, going 4-1 with a fall over Gateway in round 5 and decisions over Riverdale in round 1 and Flagler Palm Coast in round 3, with his only loss by decision to Southwest Miami in round 4.
