#TOC: 4 Champs Lead Bobcats

Buchholz wrestlers and coaches are all smiles after a title win Saturday at the 30th Ron Peters Tournament of Champions at Lake Mary (Photo submitted by Billy Pankey via Facebook).
LAKE MARY — How does Buchholz coach Billy Pankey feel about scrambles?
After the past two weeks, if he hadn’t liked them before, he might have better feelings about them now. The Bobcats kicked off 2021 with the second-best team effort among Florida teams at their own Bobcat Roundrobin on January 2, and followed that up with a team win at the 30th Annual Tournament of Champions at Lake Mary on Saturday.
In so doing, Buchholz held off strong challenges from 3A-District 4’s runnerup and champ (Timber Creek & Hagerty, respectively), scoring 251.5 points to the Wolfpack’s 239 and Huskies’ 222.
The Bobcats walked away with titles at four weights, with a pair of runnerup finishes. In all, nine Bobcats finished in the top four at their respective weights.
Seminole also competed in the one-day roundrobin, which has been a two-day IBT in years past. The Noles were seventh in the 11-team event, one point off of sixth. Seminole left the tournament with three top-four finishes, including one champin and one runnerup.
Bracket’s from Saturday’s competition can be found HERE.
Buchholz will host the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds for half of the 3A-Region 1 tournament field on Thursday. Seminole has not submitted a schedule to us or a complete schedule to Track, but we have the Noles going to St Cloud’s Milton-Winter Invitational IBT on Friday and Saturday.
