THE ACES OF THE DAY
Episcopal: Eighth-grader Christian McGarity (170) bonus-pointed through the tournament and avenged a loss to a teammate in the process, beating two fellow Aces to win the weight class. McGarity had pins over wrestlers from Stanton and Ribault to reach the final, where he shut out a Paxon competitor by a 9-0 count.
Robert E Lee: Senior Craig Harper (220) pinned his way through the weight class for one of the Generals’ three titles, with all three of his matches ending in the first period. Harper had falls over Keystone Heights, Ed White and Englewood to win the weight class.
Englewood: Senior Sam Howard (195) was one of three Rams champs, max-pointing his way through the draw with an injury-default win over Westside in the quarters and pins over Keystone Heights and Episcopal to take the bracket.
Ridgeview: Junior Derrick Mosley (285) won one of the marquee finals matches of the day, if not the match of the day, with pins over Robert E Lee and Wolfson wrestlers to get to the final, where he pushed past a fellow highly-regarded 285, 8-3, for the title.
Westside: Junior Jacare Johnson (126) was one of three finalists for the Wolverines, with pins over Paxon and Wolfson to get to the championship match, where he lost by fall to Episcopal.

Paxon: Senior Michael Dramis (170) was the Golden Eagles’ lone finalist, with a 2-1 tournament. After a forfeit into the semis, Dramis won by injury-default to get to the championship match, where he took a loss to a fellow Ace.
Stanton: Senior Grant Kelsey (152) had two byes to start the day, then picked off two first-period pins over wrestlers from Englewood and Episcopal to win the Blue Devils’ lone title.
