#Arnold: Dolphin Depth Carries Day

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Gulf Breeze had just a bit more depth than Suwannee on Saturday.

Having three extra wrestlers meant that the Dolphins were able to overcome the 1A Bulldogs’ five individual champions to walk away with the team title in the inaugural Arnold IBT, as Gulf Breeze held off Suwannee, 222.5-203.5.

All 13 Dolphin wrestlers placed in the top five in their respective weight classes, with champions at 132, 182 and 220, plus five runners-up.

Half of Suwannee’s team walked away with brackets, as the 1A Bulldogs brought 10 wrestlers west, with two seconds and two thirds as well. Suwannee had titles at 113, 126, 138, 152 and 170.

Crestview outdistanced Choctaw, 157.5-102, for third place, thanks to two weight-class wins at 160 and 285 for the 2A Bulldogs. Host Arnold, which took sixth as a group, also had two titles (106 and 120), while seventh-place North Bay Haven took a win at 195 and ninth-place Marianna a win at 145.
