#TheSeason2020-21: University Christian

Hey guys!

The work continues. We are bringing back, for its seventh year, #TheSeason. We didn’t do these first year, but have ever since. It’s something nobody else does. We compile all season records and write a wrapup for each team.

As we had already updated individual season records for every wrestler for our first team, it seemed logical to begin this year’s series with University Christian.

UNIVERSITY CHRISTIAN

Win/loss record: 3-16 in dual meets reported to Matmen.

Season in a nutshell:

• 7th at Cam Brown Classic, 12/4-5
• Competed at Danny Byron, 12/11-12
• 1-4 (13th) at Yulee Duals, 12/18-19
• 42nd at Knockout Christmas Classic, 12/28-29
• Competed at Bobcat Roundrobin, 1/2
• 1-3 at Keystone Memorial duals, 1/8
• 18th at Keystone Memorial IBT, 1/9
• 0-5 at Trojan Invitational, 1/16
• 1-4 (8th) at Tiger Duals, 1/23
• T-16th at Clay Rotary, 2/5-6 (20 teams)
• T-5th at 1A-District 4, 2/17 (8 teams)
• 17th at 1A-Region 1, 2/26-27 (30 teams)
• 24th at 1A State, 3/5-6 (68 teams)

Projected key returners (10+ matches or post-season experience this past season) for 2021-22 (with year in school as of next season): Egan Gustilo (junior, 37-7 at 120, district champ, 1 match from states).

Projected losses (10+ matches or post-season experience this past season) via graduation unless otherwise noted: Jayce Paridon (freshman, 56-4 at 106, district champ, region champ, state 3rd; transferring to Fleming Island); Mathew Flores (33-26 at 152, district runnerup, 1 match from states).
