#SeasonRecords: Timber Creek

Hey guys!

The work continues. After we complete #TheSeason for the previous year, we work on records for the remainder of 3A-Region 1 and 1A-Region 2. As we typically have in the past couple of years, we begin this work with the one team that sends us full season records in Timber Creek.

TIMBER CREEK

Win/loss record: 12-4 in dual meets reported to Matmen. All of Timber Creek’s boys results were emailed to us; we did not get the Wolfpack’s full girls results.

Season in a nutshell:

  • 3-2 (4th) at Braves Duals, 12/5 (10 teams)
  • Competed at Danny Byron Invitational, 12/11-12 (20 teams)
  • T-39th at Knockout Christmas Classic, 12/28-29 (51 teams)
  • 2-1 (2nd) at 3A-District 4 Duals, 1/6 (8 teams)
  • 2nd at Ron Peters Tournament of Champions, 1/8-9 (11 teams)
  • 2-1 (runnerup) at 3A-Region 1 Duals, 1/14 & 1/22 (8 teams)
  • 1st at Wolfpack Invitational, 1/30 (6 teams)
  • 5th at Women’s Metro Conference, 2/3 (20 teams; 12 competing)
  • 2nd at Metro East Conference, 2/6 (9 teams)
  • 1st at 3A-District 4, 2/19 (8 teams)
  • 12th at Girls’ State, 2/19-20 (118 teams)
  • 5th at 3A-Region 1, 2/26-27 (31 teams)
  • T-15th at 3A State, 3/5-6 (64 teams)

Projected key returners (10+ matches or post-season experience this past season) for 2021-22 (with year in school as of next season): Trenton Dominguez (senior, 42-10 at 106, district champ, region runnerup, state 6th); Jean Vasquez (senior, 19-11 at 106/113, did not compete in post-season traditionals); Bailey Waltz (senior, 17-5* at 122, girls’ state 4th); Zach Walker (sophomore, 17-12 at 126/132, did not compete in post-season traditionals); Ethan Winters (junior, 13-17 at 138, district 3rd, 2-2 at regions); Gabe Truax (senior, 4-19 at 152, district 5th); Daniel Pacheco (sophomore, 8-15 at 160, district 5th); Dennis Proulx (senior, 31-11 at 182, district 3rd, 1 match from states); Carlos Arciniegas (senior, 11-9 at 195, district 3rd, 2-2 at regions); Andres Velez (junior, 9-10 at 195, did not compete in post-season traditionals); Peter Nesheiwat (junior, 23-11 at 220, district 3rd, 2-2 at regions); Landon Bueter (junior, 6-6 at 220, did not compete in post-season traditionals).

Projected losses (10+ matches or post-season experience this past season) via graduation unless otherwise noted: Fernando Dominguez (37-11 at 113, district champ, region 3rd, 1-2 at states); Bryse Balcom (28-12 at 120, district 3rd, 2-2 at regions); Jacob McCrimmon (19-11 at 126, district champ, 2-2 at regions); Jayden Tapia (45-7 at 132, district champ, region champ, state 3rd); Giovanna Diaz (18-5* at 140, girls’ state 5th); Malik Tyrell-Crittington (18-11 at 145, district 4th, 1 match from states); Zach Hanks (23-12 at 170, district 3rd, 1 match from states); Daniel Garcia (28-7 at 285, district champ, 1-2 at regions).
