#Rumble: Barracudas Go 3-0 At Winter Park

WINTER PARK — New Smyrna Beach successfully navigated all three rounds of the Rumble in the Park on Saturday.

The Barracudas (5-0 in duals for the season) took three double-digit wins, with victories over Lake Nona (66-18), Jones (66-12) and the host Wildcats (44-27).

Winter Park, which kicked off its home and dual season simultaneously, also had wins over Jones (68-12) and Lake Nona (39-30) to take second.

Triple winners for New Smyrna Beach were Jonathon Bruner (120, 2 pins), Jamey Bruner (126, 2 pins), Aidan Sutton (138/145, pin & major), Justis Chandler (152, 2 pins & major), Dylon York (195, 3 pins) and Cole Billings (285, 2 pins).

Richard Crunkilton (106, pin), Beau Laye (113), Jace Engberg (138/145, 2 pins), Sawyer Vanrider (182, pin) and Austin Mitchum (220, 2 pins) each were 2-1 for the ‘Cudas.

For Winter Park, Brendon Powers (106, 2 pins), Jorge Gonzalez (132, 2 decisions), Joey Parker (145, 2 pins & decision), Ashton Hughes (160, 2 pins & decision), Tristen Carbonell (170, pin & tech) and Liam Glassmeyer (220, 2 pins & decision) all were 3-0 on the day.

Barry Edward (152, 2 pins) added a 2-1 day for the Wildcats.

New Smyrna Beach hosts Matanzas in a key showdown between 2A-District 4 rivals on Wednesday, while Winter Park is off until Friday, when the Wildcats go to Harmony for the two-day Longhorn duals event.
