WINTER PARK — In a battle of middles and upperweight wrestlers Wednesday night at Lake Howell, visiting Dr Phillips had enough weight to take a road dual victory.

The Panthers had five pins to the Silver Hawls’ four, good for a 30-24 win over the hosts.

Dr Phillips (1-2) strung together three straight falls from Jamsheed Gafur (138), Davy Bancey (145) and Daniel Melendez (152), putting the dual away with pins up top from Amir Motassim (182) and Ritchy Augustin (220).

Lake Howell (1-2) got pins from Xavier McMichael (132), Christopher Campbell (160), Luke Gonzalez (170) and Michael Kici (285).

The Silver Hawks go right back onto the mats Friday night, traveling to district rival Hagerty’s Johnny Rouse Duals, a two-day event that ends on Saturday. Dr Phillips is now off until January 6, when the Panthers will be at Windermere for a tri-meet.

MISSING: We did not get a report from Lake Brantley at its Brawl event in time to make this roundup. We were also missing a scoresheet from University (Orlando)’s dual against Colonial (although we did see social media reports that the Grenadiers won).

BOX SCORE: You can see the Dr Phillips/Lake Howell, two box scores from the Panhandle, and all reported duals from the greater Jacksonville/Daytona area wrestled Wednesday night HERE.
