#NEDailyRdp: January 19

NEPTUNE BEACH — In Wednesday’s lone tri-meet in the Northeast portion of the coverage area, it was Episcopal that escaped with two wins.

The Eagles (8-11 in duals for the season) first defeated Bolles (54-21), then later overcame host Fletcher, 42-33, following the Senators’ 60-12 dual win over the Bulldogs.

The final dual was back-and-forth with Fletcher (unknown season record) stringing together three straight victories from 145-160 to establish a 33-24 lead, only to have Episcopal pin out in the final three weights, 170 through 195, to rally back.

Double winners for Episcopal were Turner Glenn (106, pin), Cohen Chesser (132, decision), Brennan Doherty (170, pin), Hunter Luzar (182, pin), Christian McGarity (195, pin) and Kent Robinson (220). Scott Busey (120, decision) and Baylor Maurer (138, pin) both had contested victories in the Fletcher dual; the Eagles recorded eight forfeit wins against Bolles (unknown season record).

For the host Senators, Jimi Baur (113), Cole O’Brien (126/132, pin), Jackson McEachin (145, pin), Chris Strong (152) and Josh Daltro (160, decision) were double-winners. Toby Matson (285) added a contested win by fall in the Episcopal dual.

For Bolles, Jacob Witt (120, tech & decision), Denny Vohs (138, pin & major) and Jack Pyburn (285, pin & decision) all were double-winners.

Bolles and Episcopal are off now until weekend after next, when the Bulldogs will go to Flagler Palm Coast for the Flagler Rotary on January 28-29. On those same dates, Episcopal will be heading to Wakulla’s MyHOUSE Big Bend Invitational. Fletcher is first back on the mats, as it’ll head to Fernandina Beach on Tuesday.

Deltona 46, Mount Dora 27: At Mount Dora, the visitors (8-8 in duals) rolled to the double-digit win, allowing just two contested victories in a dual that wasn’t as close as the final score indicated.

Next up for the Wolves will be a home dual with conference and county rival Atlantic on January 26.
