TALLAHASSEE — Lincoln’s dual season isn’t quite complete yet, but the Trojans still had a city opponent to square off with at home Wednesday night.
And Lincoln was equal to the task against Florida High, taking a 53-20 victory over the Seminoles in what was the visitors’ dual season finale.
After Lincoln (8-2) got on the board with a forfeit win at 285, Florida High’s Dewan Richardson put the Seminoles’ first points up with a 6-4 win at 106.
The Trojans then went on a 17-0 run with pins from Zakary Jurado (120) and Jashawn Washington (126), plus a 20-5 tech fall from Vaniel Caceres (5:45).
Florida High put six more back on Troy Carroll’s second-period fall at 2:32 to cut the Lincoln lead to 14, but the Trojans then put on another 15-0 run, with pins from Zaire Fernanders-Jackson (138) and Vincent Crump (145) plus an 8-4 win from Connor Edwards at 152.
The Seminoles (4-7) got back-to-back pins from the Hawkes brothers, Liam at 160 and Xander at 170, but Lincoln closed out with another double-digit mini-run, with forfeit wins at 182 and 195 and a 9-3 decision for Omarion LaRoach at 220.
Lincoln will hit the road Friday for Lakeland and Lake Gibson’s two-day Braves Invitational IBT, while Florida High as of now is off until the 1A-District 2 IBT on February 18.
