OCOEE — In the final tuneup for both teams before Friday’s Metro Conference IBT at Winter Park, Ocoee closed out its dual season on a winning note Tuesday night.
The Knights won at 11 weight classes, including a 54-0 run between 160 and 120, to run away from district rival West Orange, 63-16.
Ocoee (10-5 in duals for the season) got out to a 9-0 start on a fall from Gabriel Blair-Dukes (145) and 10-7 win at 138 from Donell Grimes; after West Orange got its first points, the Knights then went on their huge run, with pins from Eric Gilreath (160), Deandre Scott (285) and Nathan Ramirez (120), plus forfeit wins at 170, 182, 195, 220, 106 and 113 against a short-handed Warrior side.
Logan Turner (152) got West Orange (7-5) on the board with a fall; after Ocoee had clinched the dual, Chris Perez (14-0 at 132) secured a major decision. The Warriors also had a forfeit win at 126.
West Orange also closed out its dual season with Tuesday’s dual.
