GULF SHORES — Choctaw wrapped up its regular season over the weekend, going 4-2 in Gulf Shores’ two-day Dolphin Duals.
The Indians (19-15 in duals for the season) were fourth in their pool with a 2-2 record, taking wins over Baker B (54-24) and Fairhope (42-40), with losses to Vestavia Hills (51-30) and the hosts (61-16).
On Saturday, Choctaw had a pair of consolation duals, taking down Spanish Fort (60-18) and Thompson B (51-24) in contested competitions.
The Indians had three unbeaten wrestlers, led by Olivia Culpepper’s max-point performance at 106, which included a pair of pins.
Additionally, Samuel Santos (170, pin & major) and Chase Pelfrey (285, 3 pins) were both 4-0 for Choctaw.
Bradack Carroll (160, 2 pins & decision) had a 5-1 tournament for the Indians, while Gavin Henegar (138/145, 2 pins), Lundy Phillips (195) and Caden McKinney (220, 3 pins) were all 4-2. Additionally, Jesse Sarver (182, pin) turned in a 3-3 tournament.
As noted, Saturday was Choctaw’s final scheduled regular-season competition. Next up for the Indians will be the 2A-District 1 IBT at Ft Walton Beach on the 16th.
