ORANGE CITY — 3A-District 2 rivals University (Orange City) and Seminole closed out their dual seasons Monday night, as the Titans took a 40-35 victory.
The host Titans (5-14 in duals) held an advantage in the bookends of the lineup with a fuller lineup, taking forfeits at 106, 113, 182 and 195. Cooper Braden (152) and Rubens Joseph (220) each won by fall for UOC, with Drake Alban adding a 10-0 major at 120.
Most of Seminole’s points came in the middle, with pins from Ryan Culbertson (132), Abdelkrin Salomon (220), Wordner Edoward (170) and Jevelle Johnson (285), plus a tech fall (15-0 in 3:48) from Benjamin Buhring at 160. The Noles (season record unknown) also won by forfeit at 145.
University (Orange City) has one more event on its calendar, going to Ocoee’s one-day Mat Classic IBT on Saturday. Seminole’s boys regular season is complete, according to its Track schedule, and the Noles will return to competition on February 18 with the 3A-District 2 IBT at Buchholz.
