FERNANDINA BEACH — In the regular-season finale for all four teams Thursday night, host Fernandina Beach sent off its seniors with three thumping dual victories.

The Pirates (15-8 in duals for the season) lost just four contested matches in taking victories over Ed White (64-9), Orange Park (64-8) and Atlantic Coast (77-0).

Orange Park (8-17) won a pair of duals, with a 31-6 win over Atlantic Coast in round 1 and a 22-12 victory over Ed White in round 3. The Commanders turned back the Stingrays (both Duval teams’ season records unknown), 30-12, in round 2.

Triple winners for the Pirates were Luke Gray (106), Cael Kubatzke (120, pin), Caden Kubatzke (126, 2 pins), Nik Saldana (132, major), Dietrich Woods (138, pin), Cole Misciagna (145), Enzo Gamba (160, pin/tech/major), Lucas Crawford (182, 2 pins) and Gabriel Martinez (285).

Henry McDuffy (170, pin), Gauge Housley (195, pin) and Peyton White (220, pin) each won twice for Fernandina Beach.

For Orange Park, Geoffrey Jules-Delice (195/220, 2 pins & tech) was the lone triple winner. Braden Owenby (126), Dionne Hall (132/138, decision), Trevion Sermons (160/170, tech & major), Cevan Broughton (152/160/170, pin & decision) and Tyson Cruz (182, pin) each were 2-1 for the Raiders.

Demarkus Raysor (220, pin & decision) was Ed White’s lone triple-winner. Darien Hookfin (160, 2 pins) added a two-victory night for the Commanders. For Atlantic Coast, ArJun Lamba (113/120) was the only wrestler to go 2-1.

New Smyrna Beach 60, Seabreeze 18: In a matchup of 5 Star Conference and FHSAA region qualifiers at New Smyrna Beach, the hosts put on a rout on their Senior Night, winning every match from 152 on up top.

Beau Laye (113), Jamey Bruner (126), Jace Engberg (138), Justis Chandler (152), Thomas Connell (170), Dylon York (195) and Austin Mitchum (220) all won by fall for the Barracudas (22-7). NSB also won by forfeit at 160, 182 and 285.

Seabreeze (season record unknown) picked up pins from William Sites (106), Joseph Kent (132) and Hayden Herndon (145).

Both teams go back into action on Wednesday, with New Smyrna Beach looking to defend its 2A-District 4 IBT crown at Matanzas, and Seabreeze going to Mt Dora for the 1A-District 6 event that same day.

Buchholz 42, Columbia 32: At Buchholz, the Bobcats (9-4) were able to send off their seniors with a winning note.

Jedidiah Brown (126), Venumadhava Mirel (132), Laine Slayton (138), Aiden Moore (152) and Jamari Chisolm (195) all won by fall for Buchholz, which got forfeit victories at 120 and 170 as well.

Columbia (4-6), which was joined by a few wrestlers from Forest, picked up pins by Kevin Fink (113), Caleb Jones (160) and Shawn Raggins (220), with Joseph Rice taking a 4-3 decision at 182.

Forest victories for the Tigers’ cause were secured by Jeffery Toribio (145) and Cane Fernandez (285), both by pin.

Buchholz and Forest will both be at the 3A-District 2 IBT, with the Bobcats hosting, on February 18. Columbia hosts the 2A-District 2 IBT event on Wednesday.
