THE VILLAGES — Suwannee had one last duals tournament left in them for 2021-22.

And the Bulldogs made the most of it Saturday, with five double-digit wins to close their season record out at 49-7 and win the T.D. Talbott Legion Duals championship.

Suwannee had dual victories over Forest (69-6), Tavares (63-6), Heritage (49-27), Citrus (45-28) and host Villages, 45-24, in the final.

Five Bulldog wrestlers were 5-0 on the day. Of those, three were max-pointers, scoring 6 team dual points in each dual the team wrestled, and one — Topher Pearson (113/120) — pinned his way thorugh the tournament, with five pins in 7:37 of combined mat time.

Brody Boehm (126, 4 pins) and James Prentice (170, 4 pins & injury default) were the other two Suwannee max-pointers, while Eli Jolicoeur (106, 2 decisions) and Austin Howard (160, 3 pins & decision) joined them as 5-0 unbeatens.

Austin McKinney (132, 4 pins) and Tyson Musgrove (152, pin & major) were both 4-1 on the day. Justin Contreras (113/120, pin & 2 decisions), Marshall White (145, 2 pins) and Torynn Johns (182/195, pin) each put in 3-1 tournaments.

Additionally, Ayden Kirby (138, 2 pins & decision) and Christian Harrell (220, 2 pins) were both 3-2 for the Bulldogs.

Forest box scores, other than against Suwannee, were not available at the time of this writing. Belleview was also scheduled to contend at this meet, per both paper and Trackwrestling schedules, and their box scores are also not available at the time of this writing.

For all three teams, reported duals or no, their regular seasons are all complete. Belleview is first back on the mat, with an appearance at the 2A-District 4 IBT at Matanzas on Wednesday. Both Forest and Suwannee will wrestle on Friday, with the Bulldogs hosting 1A-District 2 tournament action and Forest at Buchholz for the 3A-District 2 IBT.
