KISSIMMEE — Not much has yet been decided after the first day of competition in the inaugural FHSAA girls’ state wrestling tournament at Silver Spurs Arena.
Among local teams, Mainland, with 19 points, is in fourth place, one point of fifth-place Matanzas and three points ahead of sixth-place Ponte Vedra after Thursday’s wrestling.
Freedom leads with 35 points, while Miami Norland is second (21) and South Dade third (19.5).
Among local teams, Timber Creek is eighth (12.5 points), Apopka and Westside both T-9th (12) and Dr Phillips T-15th (10). Clay, Crestview and Mosley are all tied for 18th with eight points, while University (Orange City) is T-26th (six). Bartram Trail, Hagerty, Middleburg and Oakleaf were all T-28th with five points, while Deltona, Lincoln, Orange Park, Oviedo, Raines, Tocoi Creek, West Port, Wewahitchka and Windermere are all tied for 32nd with four points each.
Ed White is T-68th with three, while Nease, Seminole, and Tate were each T-82nd with two points. Flagler Palm Coast, Gulf Breeze, Lake Mary, Milton, Ocoee, and Winter Park all did not score on Thursday.
