PALM BAY — In the inaugural competition of the season for both teams, Lyman and Seabreeze represented the Matmen coverage area at Bayside’s two-day Barbara Pill Invitational tournament.
The Greyhounds were 12th out of 19 teams, with 58 points, while the Sandcrabs were 15th with 53. Seabreeze competed in morning pool competition on Friday, while Lyman wrestled in the PM pool session, with Saturday moving to IBT brackets.
Lyman’s top placer was junior Jackson Fredrickson (132), who finished fourth with just one contested loss each day of the tournament, and both losses were to the same wrestler (Heritage’s Jason Martin). Fredrickson was 7-2 over the weekend, with six pins and a 1-0 decision.
As for Seabreeze, senior Pedro Sierra-Bonilla (20th at 2A-220) put forward the top performance, placing third. After a 2-2 Friday-morning session, with two pins, Sierra-Bonilla reached the Saturday semis, where he took a second tournament loss to the eventual champion, Palm Bay’s Leonard Christian. Sierra-Bonilla had four pins in claiming third.
Among area competitors, Lyman’s Cameron Warner (160), along with the Seabreeze Sites brothers — William (120) and Wyatt (132) were fifth, while the Greyhounds’ Julio Menoyo (170) placed sixth.

Lyman has its inaugural dual of the season on Thursday with a road-trip to University (Orange City), while Seabreeze will kick off its duals season on Saturday, traveling to district rival Deltona and its Deltona Duals.
