When & where: Friday & Saturday at Osceola.
Local teams in the field: Buchholz, DeLand, Fleming Island, Hagerty, Timber Creek, Winter Park.
Area returning champions: Jayce Paridon (Fleming Island).
Synopsis: Friday marks the top team in the north’s official debut to the 2022-23 season, and the Golden Eagles will get long looks at the state’s fellow best in South Dade, Southwest Miami, Lake Gibson, Palmetto Ridge and Jensen Beach. Additionally, south Georgia powers Camden County and Colquitt County will also be in the mix. For the rest of the field, this tournament field will sort out fairly quickly who can hang and who’s got more work to do before February.
Milestones: A seven-win weekend would give Hagerty senior Kamdon Harrison 150 career victories. With 10 wins this weekend (unlikely but theoretically possible), DeLand senior Gavin Rodriguez-Cayro would reach 100 wins.
