CHATTANOOGA, TN — Liberty County sent seven wrestlers to McCallie School’s two-day invitational tournament this past weekend.
It was tough sledding against some of the South’s elite programs, as the Bulldogs were 34th of 37 teams in the field, scoring 18.5 points. Georgia small-school powerhouse Trion won the tournament.
At 120, Liberty’s Jay Brown reached the quarters and was a scoring move away from placing, falling by a 3-2 count in the blood round, while Hunter Brown (126) won three matches in the tournament and was two matches from placing.
Liberty County’s next competition is Saturday at Columbia’s Tiger Duals.
