ORLANDO — Timber Creek’s Taylor Thomas was the lone Lady Wolfpack wrestler to finish first in her weight class Wednesday night at Timber Creek’s third girls rumble of the season.
Thomas won twice in the 120-125 weight block, with a 16-second fall over Merritt Island and a walkover forfeit over teammate Mila Rosado.
Rosado was one of four Lady Wolfpack wrestlers to place second in her block, after a 32-second pin over Merritt Island in the 120-125 block.
In the 130-140 block, three Timber Creek wrestlers competed, with Allesandra Lammers going 3-1 and placing second, with pins over Edgewater (:53) and over teammate Jessica Taylor (1:20), with a forfeit over a second teammate, Megan Canete, losing only to Palm Bay, by pin. Canete pinned Taylor in 2:25 for the fourth-place spot in the block.
At 145-155, TCHS’ Hayden Proulx was second, Gabriela DeFreitas third and Charlotte Stephenson, with all three taking losses to the eventual champ from Palm Bay. Proulx fell by 10-6 count, then won by forfeit twice over her teammates for second. DeFreitas decisioned Stephenson, 7-5, for third.
In the 170-190 block, the Lady Wolfpack’s Martina Nielsen was 1-1 for second, with a 39-second pin over Edgewater and a loss by fall to Merritt Island.
Trio of 3rds for Noles: At Springstead’s Susan Duval Girls Bash, Seminole earned three 3rd-place finishes on Wednesday night.
In the fullest weight class, 190, Chaunti Clark was 2-2 for her third-place finish, with pins over Springstead and Hernando, and losses by pin to Clearwater and Nature Coast.
At 140, Hailey Meadows was 1-2, with a third-period pin over Springstead and losses by decision to a second Springstead competitor (6-1) and Hernando (501).
Rylee Queene was 0-2 at 155, with losses by pin to Clearwater and Hernando in a three-person roundrobin.
