49th Annual Bill Scott Memorial
When & where: Friday & Saturday at Lyman.
Local teams in the field: In addition to the host Greyhounds, Apopka, Deltona, Horizon, Lake Brantley, Lake Howell, Lake Mary, Olympia, St Augustine, Sandalwood, Seabreeze, University (Orange City), West Orange and Windermere are in the field.
Defending team champion: A review of Trackwrestling suggests that 2021 team champion Mater Lakes Academy is not returning this year.
Returning area individual champions: Tamarion Kendrick (Apopka).
Synopsis: Apopka was second last year, but the Blue Darters are having to rebuild some this year. Look for a retooled Lake Brantley to figure into the mix of teams near the top if not necessarily at the top. Lake Mary and Deltona both had solid tournaments last weekend, but might be better dual teams than IBTs, at least in the early stages. Doral Academy, from south Florida, is a solid choice, perhaps, for the top spot.
