BAINBRIDGE, GA — Even with at least two weight classes open in every dual, Chiles ruled the gym at Bainbridge High School on Saturday.
The Timberwolves rolled to five double-digit wins in Saturday’s Bearcat Invitational one-day dual tournament. Chiles (5-0) began its dual season with two wins over the host Bearcats (57-24 over the A squad and 64-18 over the reserve team), with wins over Hardaway (58-22), Northside (Columbus) (48-24) and Shaw (54-24), all Georgia teams.
In so doing, Chiles rolled up an average margin of victory of 36 points per dual. And, it did so without a regular 220 (or 215, as is the case in Georgia) or 285.
All but one regular starter in the Timberwolf lineup had at least three wins on the day, with six posting 5-0 records on the day.
Leading that group of unbeatens was Cooper Hill (145), who pinned his way through all five rounds. Patrick Brooks (113) was also a 5-0 max-pointer, with pins in each of the first four rounds.
Also earning 5-0 performances were Jason Marsala (106, 2 pins & 2 majors), Jacob Johnston (132, pin, win by injury-default and major), Garrett Marschka (138, 3 pins, tech & major; 3rd in 2A) and Cody Elliott (182/195, 4 pins & decision).
