ST AUGUSTINE — Last week, Tocoi Creek and St Augustine closed the door on the December portion of their seasons with a dual meet at St Augustine on December 20, with the Toros taking a 42-40 victory.
Tocoi Creek (2-4 in duals) picked up pins from Willie Sims (132) and Jorge Caez (195); the Toros took advantage of their fuller lineup, winning five weight-classes by forfeit.
The host Yellow Jackets opened their duals season with pins from Xavier Rodriguez (120), Carter Lukes (152), Christian Jackson (160), Brayden Lovingood (170) and Gabriel Pongipat (182), with Brenner Logan adding a major decision at 113.
Both teams will be off from competition until January and will re-engage with FHSAA district duals competition that first week, with Tocoi Creek going to the 1A-District 4 duals tournament hosted by Union County on the 3rd and St Augustine scheduled for the 2A-District 4 duals tournament at New Smyrna Beach the next day.
Results from this dual can be found HERE.
Missing results: We just posted the Destin-Freeport dual, that had been scheduled on December 7, yesterday, and we are very glad to have it! We will ALWAYS post results that are missing; we just have to have them in hand. Not sure if your dual is on our site? If your dual meet is “RECEIVED,” “IN HAND” or “POSTED” Matmen has it on the site, or it’s about to be put on the site. Missing results typically are not bolded on our master calendar. Coaches of teams with missing duals will get email from me at the end of this weekend, and are requested to get those duals in.
Thank you to: We did not send out thank-yous yet for the weekend of Week 3 or Week 4. (I don’t think; I’ve been record-keeping and just started into Week 3).
Thank you to coaches at Buchholz, Bay, Lyman, Columbia, Oakleaf (but I need your dual still), Springstead, Hagerty, Freedom, Space Coast, Villages, East River, Harmony, Wetumpka (AL), Enterprise (AL), Homewood (AL), Brother Martin (LA) and especially Osceola and Ft Walton Beach for posting your tournaments — be they IBT or duals — on Track! Thank you also to the tournament directors at Fletcher and Creekside for running your duals tournaments on Track. Finally, thanks to Coach Johnson at Union and Coach Marabell at Creekside, for posting your single duals, and to Coach Marschka at Chiles for your five, from last week on Track.
Finally, thank you to Coach Walsh at Rocky Bayou Christian for emailing me your offline results (I still need that one extra dual). And of course, no kickoff to the holiday season is complete without me leaving Yulee after two days deeply in debt to the Hornet coaching staff, but especially the Hornets’ managers.
