Pace Duals
When & where: Thursday at Pace.
Teams in the field: In addition to the host Patriots, Choctaw, Crestview, Milton, Niceville and Tate will represent the Panhandle, with neighboring Fultondale & Spanish Fort (AL) crossing the state line (NOTE: Milton & Spanish Fort were added post-publication).
Returning team champion: Pace. Last year’s event was a tri-meet with the Patriots winning against Niceville and Ocean Springs (MS).
Synopsis: With the Patriots’ varsity group in place for this one, I would expect Pace to win this once again, but there will be decent-enough scraps in several duals. I would not be surprised to see a second Pace group; while that group would probably not finish that close to second (Niceville would be too strong, and possibly Fultondale and Crestview are as well), the Five (six?) teams in the field should get a decent day’s worth of matches and a tuneup for next week’s 2A-District 1 duals tournament, which Pace will also host.
