#Recap: Johnson 2nd at Ft Pierce Central

By MATMEN, Tuesday, 2:05 p.m.

FT PIERCE — One Flagler Palm Coast wrestler represented the school and county at Ft Pierce Central’s County girls tournament last Friday.

Competing at 105, the Lady Bulldogs’ Joslyn Johnson (19th at 100) was 3-1 and placed second in her weight class, which was conducted as a five-person roundrobin.

No team scores were kept for the girls tournament.

Johnson recorded falls over three different wrestlers from Lincoln Park Academy (3:39, :38 & :43), taking only a 7-1 loss in round 3 to the hosts’ Mackenzie Allcroft. In that round, Allcroft had takedowns in the first and third periods, turning Johnson for backpoints in the second.

In her pins, Johnson needed just one takedown in rounds 2 and 5 (she had a bye in round 4) and had rolled up a 17-4 lead in round 1 before securing the second-period fall.
