#Recap: Dodge Opens With Hudson Title

By MATMEN, Sunday, 1:50 p.m.

HUDSON — In what may have been her first wrestling action of the 2022-23 season, West Port senior Jayden Dodge didn’t seem to miss a beat, rolling to three victories in Friday’s Hudson Girls IBT.

Dodge needed just 1:45 of mat time to win the 155-pound weight class in the event; after a forfeit in round 1, she pinned wrestlers from two wrestlers from Boca Ciega in 1:12 and :33, respectively, to win the weight class.

Dodge was the solo wrestler from West Port, scoring 20 points as the Wolfpack finished ninth out of 10 teams in the event. Springstead outpointed Boca Ciega, 101.5-89, for the team title.

Local teams at Winter Springs: Coaches who sent girls’ delegations to Friday’s rumble event at Winter Springs are reminded to send their representatives’ win-loss records to us here; anything received before 6 p.m. Monday, we’ll update this recap accordingly.

Results from Friday’s event can be found HERE.
