DOTHAN, AL — Fresh off a full set of weekend duals at Mosley’s Panhandle Championships, Wewahitchka took to the road again Monday night.
This time, the Gators went across the Florida state line to compete in Northside Methodist Academy’s quad meet.
And while the Gators found hospitality against the hosts in taking a 48-24 victory, Wewahitchka (9-20 in duals) had tougher sledding against Alabama teams Houston Academy and Dothan, taking 39-30 and 40-30 losses, respectively.
Jake Parker (120, 2 pins) and Conner Roberts (160, 3 pins) were the Gators’ lone triple-winners Monday night.
Zeke Cooper (106, 2 pins), Wesley Spencer (113), Jarrett Spencer (152, 2 pins) and Calvin Carpenter (170, pin) all turned in 2-1 records for the evening.
In girls’ competition, the Lady Gators got falls from Zoey Sapp (100), Kameron Easter (107) and MaKani Young (114), all against wrestlers from Dothan.
Wewahitchka is now off until Friday, when the Gators will host their annual two-day Gator Brawl competition.
