ORLANDO — In Tuesday night’s Timber Creek Girls’ Rumble #4, Oviedo won three of the five weight blocks and the host Lady Wolfpack took the other two.
The first Oviedo winner was Camryn Harber, who needed just one victory to take first in the 100-105 weight block. She accomplished that with a third-period fall (4:16) over teammate Amelia Vamadoe, who was second.
A two-person bracket was also the case for the Lady Lions’ Sarah Edmiston in the 130-135 block, but one difference was that she faced off against an opponent from another team, and Edmiston was able to set the pace and take an 8-3 decision over the hosts’ Allesandra Lammers, who was second.
Finally, Jana El’harake (7th at 155) won the 155-170 weight block behind three pins. El’harake was on the mat for a combined total of 2:11, with her 44-second fall over the Lady Wolfpack’s Martina Nielsen the effective “championship match.” Nielsen won twice (once by pin) for second, while Oviedo’s Haley Mitchell was third and TCHS’ Gabriela DeFreitas fourth.
Timber Creek’s first win was from Taylor Thomas (16th at 120), who had two pins in 53 seconds in the 120-125 weight block, then won by forfeit over teammate Mia Rosado, who wound up second thanks to two pins of her own. Oviedo’s Oakley True was third, with a 20-5 tech fall over Merritt Island in the third round.
In the 140-145 weight block, the Lady Wolfpack’s Hayden Proulx (7th at 145) had two pins and a forfeit over a teammate to win the block. Proulx’s first-period fall (1:52) over Oviedo’s Delaney Graves (18th at 145) was the effective championship match. Graves had two pins of her own to claim second, while Timber Creek’s Jessica Taylor was 0-3.
