LAKELAND — Timber Creek tuned up for this week’s 3A-Region 1 duals tournament with a trip over to George Jenkins for that team’s one-day Eagle Duals tournament Saturday.
The trip west on I-4 was largely successful, as the Wolfpack went 4-1 in duals on the day, taking down Celebration (70-9), host George Jenkins (45-35), Flagler Palm Coast (44-36) and Zephyrhills Christian (40-37).
The team’s only loss came in round 2 to Lakewood Ranch, 45-36.
Three Wolfpack wrestlers were 5-0 on the day. Marlo Clark (113) max-pointed through the tournament, with four pins, while Keegan Clark (120) bonus-pointed through with two pins and two majors. Peter Nesheiwat also turned in five wins, with three pins and a decision at 285.
The wins sent Nesheiwat over the 100-career wins mark; as of the weekend, he was 31-1 for the season thus far this year, with 102 career wins.
Appearing in part-time roles were Andrew Wittenberg (152) and William Muniz (160/170), both of whom were 3-0. Wittenberg had two pins and a tech, while Muniz had three falls.
Aidan Benson (126/132, 4 pins) was 4-1, while Jayden Smith (220, decision) turned in a 3-2 day.
