#Preview: Lady Bear Classic

By MATMEN, Friday, 4 p.m.

Lady Bear Classic

When & where: Saturday at Cypress Creek
Local teams in the field: According to my best information (which may be incorrect), Dr Phillips, Hagerty, Horizon, Lake Howell, Nease, Stanton, Timber Creek, Wekiva, West Orange, Windermere.
Defending champion: Unknown. Team scores are rarely passed along to us (there have been LBC events without team scores in the past).
Synopsis: It’s difficult to predict a tournament where one doesn’t know all the teams in the field, but Freedom has typically been in this event in past years; if that is again the case, look for the Lady Patriots to be the top team in attendance. Dr Phillips should be one of the stronger groups of the day, and Timber Creek has some solid competitors as well.
Local state-ranked wrestlers (listed by weight class in ranked order) —
110: Victoria Ceballos (Dr Phillips, 12th).
120: Taylor Thomas (Timber Creek, 16th).
145: Hayden Proulx (Timber Creek, 7th); Olivia Carr (Nease, 17th); Jessania Jarrett (Dr Phillips).
155: Chloe Shull (Timber Creek, 2nd); Shyann Tate (Hagerty, 9th).
170: Amy Etienne (Dr Phillips, 9th); Amari Etienne (Dr Phillips, 10th).
190: Emily Riveira (Dr Phillips, 9th); Ramiyah Steele (Wekiva, 10th); Francheska Robles (Dr Phillips, 11th).
235: Tanyah McCain (Dr Phillips, 15th).
