LYNN HAVEN — Fresh off its first district duals title, Gulf Breeze kept up the momentum going into last weekend’s Panhandle Championships, hosted by Mosley.
The Dolphins defeated six opponents over two days of wrestling winning their pool with a 4-0 record and four very one-sided duals.
But Gulf Breeze (12-5 overall as of last weekend) kept up the pressure in the championship crossover as well, taking a 39-point win over North Bay Haven in the semis and then doubling up district rival Pace, 54-27, for the title.
Thirteen of Gulf Breeze’s 14 starters won at least three matches over the course of the record, and were led by seven unbeatens in all. Tops among those was senior Colson Elliott, who went over the 150-career wins mark with his 6-0, 5-pint appearance, setting a very significant career milestone.
