JACKSONVILLE — In its first duals in nearly a month, Wolfson powered past First Coast, but barely pushed past host Paxon in a Gateway Conference tri-meet Thursday night.
The Wolfpack (4-6) defeated the Buccaneers, 51-27, and then the Golden Eagles, 32-30, leaving early with a 2-0 record on the night, its first dual competition since December 14.
Double winners for Wolfson were Tristian Martinez (106/113, tech), Taylor Martinez (106/113, pin), Caleb Gaff (145, 2 pins), Bryce Frye (170, 2 pins) and Liam Strange (182, decision).
Charles Decunto (120) and Keegan Maclean (220) both won by pin in the victory over First Coast, while Joseph Decunto (195) won by fall and Kai Molla (138) by 14-10 decision against Paxon.
First Coast had its first duals of the season, taking a 39-27 win over Paxon in the final round.
Hayden Gilley (132/138) and Dean Marshall (195, 2 pins) both won twice for the Buccaneers (1-1).
Storm Ward (132) picked up an 8-2 win in the Wolfson loss, while Aniella Garcia-Lopez (120) and Micheal Youmans (220) had pins and Brandon Story (138) added a 9-3 decision in the win over the hosts.
For Paxon (1-8), Kyle Brown (120/126, pin) and Brendan Lawson (152, pin) were double winners on the night.
Justin Williams (126) and Matthew Brunelli (220) each won by pin in the Golden Eagle loss against Wolfson, while Michael Gold (145) had a pin and Blake Brewer won by 13-8 decision in the loss against First Coast.
