ORANGE PARK — Oakleaf celebrated its Senior Night with a rare Monday-night dual against county rival Keystone Heights.
And the celebration was just as much for on the mat as it was immediately before it, as the Knights took down the Indians, 60-3.
Oakleaf seniors Jacob Polinsky (160, pin), Jacob Dewald (182, pin), Isaiah Shevchook (220, pin) and Caleb Pope (138, pin) all took pins for the Knights (18-10); senior reserve Antonio Barerra (152) got a rare start, and battled against the Indians’ Marcellus Beem into double-overtime before taking a 6-4 loss.
Additionally, Evan Brown (195) won by fall for Oakleaf, with Christopher McKeel (126) taking a 16-0 tech fall, Jacob McClintic (170) an 11-1 major and Jackson Hemphill (132) a 5-1 decision.
Beem’s decision were the only dual team points for the Indians (3-9).
Oakleaf will be at Flagler Rotary this weekend, while Keystone Heights hosts a tri-meet, with Interlachen & Palatka attending, on Wednesday.
