ORANGE CITY — In a Monday-night dual between region rivals, host University (Orange City) more than doubled up Lake Howell, sweeping the weight classes between 170 and 285 in a 48-21 win over the Silver Hawks.
Kalan Lopez (145), Slade High-Tompkins (170) and Rubens Joseph (220) all took pins for the Titans, who also won five weights via forfeit against their short-handed rivals.
Lake Howell picked up falls from Luis Campos (132), Richard Szczepaniak (138), with Cole Herring adding a 9-3 win at 160. Both teams have unknown season records due to potential missing results.
The Titans’ regular season is now complete and next up will be the 3A-District 2 IBT at Lake Mary on February 17; Lake Howell will be at a tri-meet hosted by Lyman on Wednesday.
Milton 40, W S Neal 30: At Milton, the Panthers (5-12) wrapped up their regular season behind five pins and two techs to defeat their Alabama neighbors.
Cyprian Castillo (126), Aireaana Gavere (132), Juan Castillo (145), Nolan Peters (152) and Tyler Green (220) each won by fall for Milton, with Julian Fuentes (15-0 in 3:57 at 170) and Cameron Kays (28-13 in 5:07 at 182) both taking technical falls.
Next up for the Panther boys will be the 2A-District 1 IBT at Niceville on February 15.
Buchholz 60, Union County 12: At Buchholz, the Bobcats (9-5) sent out their seniors on a high note.
Jun Jie Zheng (113), Jedidiah Brown (132), Cavarius Liddie (138), Laine Slayton (145), Max Szabo (170), Jaylan Banks (195) and Kason Nichols (220) all took pins for Buchholz.
Ethan Hancock (120) and Logan Johnson (152) both won by pin for the Tigers (16-15).
Buchholz’s regular season is now complete and the Bobcats will next be at the 3A-District 2 IBT at Lake Mary. Union County will wrap up its regular season on Thursday with a home dual against Keystone Heights.
