By MATMEN, Wednesday, 3:30 p.m.

DAYTONA BEACH — In the inaugural Battle For Daytona midweek duals event Tuesday night, host Mainland had competitive duals with two of their three opponents, but survived in both instances.

The Buccaneers defeated Florida Deaf & Blind (FSDB) (40-39), Atlantic (66-0) and Seabreeze (42-36) in their home quad meet, which served as the season finale for all three area teams in the event.

Triple winners for Mainland (7-14) were Brian Harris (132, pin & major), Joshua Stubbs (170, pin) and Josh Newman (182/195, 3 pins).

Sam Ayodele (145/152, pin), Dasaniel Rodriguez-Andino (145, pin) and Christian Singleton-Hudson (285, 2 pins) were each 2-0, while Hayden Heilman (160, pin) and Malik Daniels (182/195, 2 pins) were both 2-1.

For Seabreeze (7-15), which defeated Atlantic (75-0) and FSDB (42-36), River Gray (126, decision), Carson Fraisier (138, pin), Jackson Pruett (195, 3 pins) and Pedro Sierra-Bonilla (220, pin) each were 3-0 on the night.

No report was available from the host for the FSDB-Atlantic dual, thus a full report of the Dragons’ individual performances was not available at time of publication. We will amend this recap if that changes in the next couple of days.

Olympia 66, Horizon 11: At Olympia, the hosts won all but two weight classes where there was a weighed-in competitor.

Shiv Patel (120), Roland Flynn (138), Madden Bourst (145), Ethan Rivera-Mendez (152), Jorge Carpio (160), Philip Lamendola (170), Zack Winkelkotter (182) and Gregory Campanella (285) each won by fall for the Titans (11-5).

For Horizon (2-3), Joshua Walker (195) and Bo Kenney (220) each took pins.

Both teams have wrestling on the docket yet this week. Olympia will compete at Dr Phillips tonight, while Horizon will be at Ocoee’s one-day Ocoee Mat Classic on Saturday.

Pedro Menendez 47, St Augustine 24: At Pedro Menendez, the Falcons sent off their seniors with a solid dual victory over their crosstown rivals.

Phillip McLaughlin (132) and Archer Bosick (152) won by fall for the Falcons (13-5), while Maddox Lehman (182) won by 17-1 tech fall. The Falcons also won five weights by forfeit.

As for St Augustine (unknown season record due to missing results), Brenner Logan (113), Carter Lukes (138) and Tyshawn Whitfield (145) each won by pins, with Chris Johns (8-6 at 195) and Xavier Rodriguez (11-7 at 120) both taking decision victories.

Both the Falcons and Yellow Jackets are at Orange Park today for Raider Duals #4.

Missing results: Only partial results have been reported to Trackwrestling for Marianna’s quad meet at Dothan AL. We will amend this recap if the full set of duals comes in.
